Ladies ladies, beautiful ladies! The time has come for me to finally tell you about what I think our RPG is going to be about…I hope you like it!
SO… The RPG is going to be set within a framing device. Because our stories tend to wander if we don’t have some sort of set structure to guide us, I will be doing some guiding through a little idea of my own that I am very proud of. The story will begin with a post from Clio- if you remember her, she’s the adorable little buckskin mare from Ancient Lights and Treasures, who guards the Library of Ages.
Since Clio is the guardian of the history of North of North, she knows a thing or two about the future. After all, she can read the Patchwork’s story whenever she wants, and I like to think that she’s a cousin to Oracle! Story Arcs will start with Clio popping in to tell us a few things that are going to happen. The story, as told by you guys, the players, takes off from there! If at any point you are
A. Unsure of what to do next,
B. Need a helping hand in writing the RPG,
C. Have a conflict that needs resolved by someone outside of the story,
Or
D. Just want a surprise plot twist to pop up,
Then shout out to me! Of course, I’ll be keeping tabs on the story, but I might insert Clios here and there just to spice things up.
Now, the plot…
One summer night, all across North of North, sudden attacks split the night as Wolf Riders descended from every corner of the sky. From the Overgaard Skylands to the Plains of Autumn Sands to the streets of Trail’s End, wolves leapt from the Shadow Path, terrorizing horses and humans alike. Magical fires sprung up in their wake, forcing the denizens of each striking point to flee. Total chaos reigned; families were separated, treasured possessions lost, and valuables from homes and shops were stolen. However, as pandemonium swept across the land, certain young women of the ages ten to twenty found themselves carried on shining ribbons of light across sea and forest to the Pool of Reflection. Some were joined by their steeds; others had yet to find a horse to carry them through their adventures. At the Pool, these young women were charged with a mission and with a prophecy:
To each far land the troupe will go
To save our land from grievous woe
Treasures lost and pilfered long
Will bond the group and make them strong
With each herd a treasure lies
Our heroines together will duly earn their prize.
The Wolves of Styginmoor and their riders seemingly attacked to find a number of unspecified Treasures that would somehow allow them to gain the upper hand against Bella and Sara. Unable to find the Treasures, the wolves turned instead to upending the land in search of them. It has become the duty of our girls to identify and locate each Treasure for the good of their land and its people. What each Treasure is, where it is hidden, and how our heroes will go about it will be in part determined by you, dear writer.
